Our scope is ambitious and far reaching and today we are expanding from a local organisation to a national charitable foundation to support vulnerable communities nationwide.

As society evolves, so do its needs. To continue our work, we require a diverse range of ideas, initiatives, and fresh minds—along with passionate volunteers—to help address these challenges.

In 2024, we transitioned to a national scope, aiming to extend our reach across the UK. We need your help to replicate our local success on a larger stage.

We’re looking for people with expertise in areas such as fundraising, event planning, social media, PR, digital skills, business development, photography, catering, adult education or anyone who is interested in making positive change.

We need a dynamic, forward-thinking team to help us deliver transformational change. In return, you’ll gain valuable experience and contribute to life-changing work.

If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Join us in making a difference! There are many ways to support and get involved—reach out today and be part of something meaningful.

As a volunteer with Sangam Foundation, you can be directly involved in delivering our support and services to those who need it. It’s incredibly rewarding work and allows you to see our work in action, transforming the lives of those who most need us. As we grow, we are going to need volunteers across the UK to help oversee service delivery and ensure that in every location where we are active, we are operating in line with the vision, values, ethics and ethos that have defined us for the last 50 years.

The best way to shape our work is by joining our board of trustees and directors. You don’t need to be a member to become a trustee—just passion, dedication, and a commitment to helping us create lasting impact. Get involved and help us achieve our goals!
Nishkam SWAT is a charitable organisation founded in 2009 and based in West London, although it now operates more widely within the capital and supports more than 300 people in every session.

The organisation’s primary function is to unite and transform financially disadvantaged communities by focusing on projects that make a difference to people’s lives in the short term, whilst also improving their prospects in the long term.

Among the services provided by Nishkam SWAT is its Homeless Project, which aims to transform lives on the streets through the delivery of core health and welfare services. This is supported by a pioneering ambulance service that ensures homeless people are able to access core health and dentistry services in situ.

Project Maitri is a pilot scheme launched in 2023 and marks a new collaboration between The Women’s India Association of the UK and Sangam Foundation designed to serve and support the community regardless of age, sex, religion or colour.

Maitri, which translates from Sanskrit as benevolence, or loving kindness, is defined as taking an active interest in others, and when fully launched Project Maitri will offer the following services: Asian family counselling (provided by the Asian Family Counselling Service), Pro bono legal advice (provided by RPK Solicitors), Free meals (provided by Nishkam SWAT).

Working in partnership with Asian Family Counselling Service, we’re proud to be instrumental in ensuring that free mental health and domestic violence counselling support is now available at our centre in North London.

The project is being delivered AFCS and will also team up with the Women’s India Association and Sangam Foundation to be part of the service delivery under the Maitri project (see above)
