These four British Indian women Anjli Mohindra, Meera Syal, Maya Sondhi and Reetu have been inspirational to many of our young people who aspire to be part of the UK entertainment industry. We are very saddened to announce the demise of our dear longstanding member and past director, Sheela Anand on 22nd December 2024.
Sheela Anand lived a life of quiet strength, deep kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. She played a significant role in Sangam, where she worked tirelessly to uplift and empower others. Through her commitment, she contributed to numerous cultural and charitable initiatives helping to foster a sense of belonging and unity among the South Asian community in London. Her service was never about recognition but rather about giving back with humility and sincerity. She will be remembered not just for what she did, but for the warmth, strength, gracefulness with which she lived.
