At the very core of our ethos at the Sangam Foundation is to work collaboratively with like-minded organisations in order to effect meaningful and necessary change within communities across the UK.

Although we have gained extensive knowledge, experience and expertise over the last 50 years in the delivery of core services at a grass roots level, we know that we can often make a difference more quickly and effectively when we harness the skills and expertise of others to our own.

That’s why partnerships are a vital part of our approach in fostering support and help across those communities that need it.

Below, you can find out a bit more about a few of the partners and projects that we’re currently supporting.

Project Maitri together with Niskam SWAT provide hot meals and dry necessities every Wednesday at the Sangam Centre between 5.30pm and 6.30pm wioth the support of the Nishkam SWAT team. What began as a project serving 30 meals has grown, with their support, to providing 100 meals per week.

Nishkam SWAT, a charitable organisation rooted in the ethos of Langar (community kitchen), has been feeding and supporting the homeless and financially disadvantaged since 2009.

To volunteer or become part of this projects please get in touch with the centre.

Working in partnership with Asian Family Counselling Service, we’re proud to be instrumental in ensuring that a subsidised mental health and domestic violence counselling support is now available at our Sangam Centre.

AFCS provides a culturally sensitive and completely confidential service where experienced and qualified counsellors provide individual, couple and family counselling in Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi and English.

Working alongside the iAfrika project, Sangam Foundation awarded the funding needed to build A sanitation block for a school in Kenya through the IAfrika project. The new facility was designed specifically for use by younger children and girls, who were discouraged from attending school due to the previous toilet block also being used by boys and staff. Together with KindheArt, we also helped to provide food for 50 families and shoes for 33 children through the iAfrika project.

During the month of December in both 2022 and 2023 Sangam donated toys to Noah’s Ark Hospice, a children’s hospice in Barnet, North London, which helps babies, children and young people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, and their families, to make the most of every day.

The Christmas gifts were given to children of all ages who are receiving end-of-life care. The toys will brighten up their days and create lasting memories of celebration for their families – something that is particularly important for siblings who spend much of their time caring for a brother or sister who is unwell.

If your organisation is interested in collaborating to deliver a project we are open to new initiatives and programmes that help the community.

Please contact us to arrange a meeting so we can discuss working together.
