On Wednesday 8th September Sangam hosted a clothes drop off in support of Afghan refugees.
The day was a huge success and all of us at the centre were blown away by the volume of donations – it’s fair to say we received far more than we ever expected, and in addition to the huge amount of clothes we received vital supplies of nappies and sanitary products.
Of course, none of this would have happened or gone anywhere near as well without the contributions of a select few people. So a big thank you to:
Kalpesh , Nilesh and Nina , Shobhna, Priya and Jay for volunteering their time on the day – well done, you all put in a great shift!
Dinesh for swiftly arranging and paying for a second van when it became clear one was never going to be enough…
And finally, a big thank you to our members – not only for your generous donations but for sharing details of the event with your friends and family so they, too, could help out.
Because of your enthusiasm and support the day really couldn’t have gone any better.
